About the hotel
Set in tranquil gardens, 10 minutes’ walk from Sandown's seafront and the High Street, this fine Georgian building has a themed interior based on ocean travel and the RMS Aquitania.
Throughout the hotel, extensive use has been made of wood panelling and marquetry recovered from the RMS Aquitania, the last of the 4-funnel ocean liners.
Surrounded by its own immaculately kept gardens, the hotel is a wonderful, peaceful base from which to explore all that the Isle of Wight has to offer. Sandown's busy centre, the seafront promenade and the leisure centre are just a few minutes’ downhill walk away from the hotel’s entrance.
Free off-street parking is available within the hotel’s grounds and the hotel also offers a 25% discount on the cost of your ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight. Simply provide your booking reference number and the details of your car. The hotel will do the rest for you.
The hotel features an appealing restaurant, as well as the Aquitania Lounge Bar, with regular evening entertainment, separate comfortable lounge areas and a games room. There is an outdoor swimming pool, which is heated from May to September. The pool is located in a secluded rear garden, with lawns and a patio. The gardens create an idyllic surrounding for relaxing in the warm summer sun. The hotel also holds a civil ceremony licence for weddings, should the occasion arise.

By Ferry:
The hotel offers a 25% discount on the cost of your ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight. Once you have made your reservation, just quote your booking reference number and provide the hotel with the details of your car and its occupants. The hotel will do the rest for you.
By Car (from the Ferry port at Fishbourne):
- Coming off the ferry at Fishbourne, follow the signs for Ryde.
- Stay on the outer ring road and follow the signs for Sandown.
- When approaching Sandown, you will come under the railway bridge, with a petrol station on the left-hand side.
- At the small roundabout, take the last exit before coming back on yourself, this is the Broadway.
- The hotel is at the top of the hill, on the right-hand side.
